<p><del class="ministerial">Although my Rt Hon. Friend the Secretary of State for
Exiting the EU (Mr Davis) leads on negotiations with the EU, as I said to the Foreign
Affairs Committee last week, our Departments are working closely together to get the
best possible deal for the British people</del>.<ins class="ministerial">The Department
for Exiting the European Union is the lead department for such matters. As the Foreign
Secretary, my Rt Hon. Friend the Member for Uxbridge and South Ruislip (Boris Johnson)
said to the Foreign Affairs Committee last week, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office
and the Department for Exiting the European Union are working closely together to
get the best possible deal for the British people.</ins></p>
